Having purchased a bare block of land in a rural area, we looked into a wide range of options for building. In the end it was an easy choice to build with Shane and Megan Walker, of Fowler Homes.

Not only were Shane and Megan down-to-earth and knowledgeable, but also easy to work with and flexible. This was demonstrated in the first instance when we couldn’t find an ‘off the shelf’ plan that quite suited us and wanted to work with our own architect. Shane was able to price up the concept plan to a point where we could look into finance options. As it turns out Shane was also able to point us in the direction of a finance option that we ended up using.

From the start, we were impressed with the quality of the workmanship of the tradesman on the job. The builders were knowledgeable and friendly and kept us informed of the process. Not only did they apply careful attention to detail, but kept the site very tidy – made more impressive by the fact the build started going into winter.

The build progress kept at a good pace, without compromising quality at any point. We were able to work with Shane and Megan on fixture and fitting choices, they had a good knowledge of products and options. They were also always happy to go that extra mile if we did have questions or to provide advice if we were having trouble making a decision.

The build was kept to budget, allowing us to choose where any contingency funding we had kept to one side was spent. In our case we upgraded the kitchen benchtop – again the flexibility of the process meant this was no trouble. Tiles were also another change, Shane taking the initiative to bring us some samples to choose from, we were very happy with the result, the tiling job that was done is second to none and we have had numerous compliments on the quality of the finish.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Shane and Megan to anyone who wants a quality home built.
