As an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor within our team, you’ll be responsible for the financial accuracy and cost management of our residential projects. You will work closely with suppliers, sub-contractors, and build clients to ensure projects are delivered on budget without compromising on quality. 


The successful candidate will be highly conscientious, detail-oriented, and possess strong financial acumen, alongside the ability to accurately read and interpret building plans and technical documents. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to build successful relationships with our clients and supply chain. 


Main Tasks: 

  • Procurement: Organising quotes, negotiating rates, and issuing purchase orders with suppliers and sub-contractors. 
  • Estimating: Calculating take-offs from building plans and specifications.
  • Client Selection & Costing: Working with clients to confirm design selections and accurately costing those choices into a fixed price build contract.
  • Contract & Addendum Preparation: Drafting accurate fixed price build contracts and detailed addendums. 
  • Variation Management: Managing, pricing, and tracking contract variations throughout the build process. 
  • Financial Review: Reviewing back costing and post-project financial data to identify pricing improvements and cost-saving opportunities. 
  • Supply Chain Liaison: Overseeing materials and supply acquisition to ensure alignment with project budgets.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within the residential construction industry OR prior construction-related experience and a keenness to learn build pricing methodologies.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is advantageous but not essential if backed by solid industry experience.

  • Teamwork: Willingness to assist and support others, working closely with Contracts Managers,  Project Managers and the wider team to build a collaborative environment. 
  • Adaptability & Problem Solving: Adaptability to a dynamic construction environment and strong problem-solving skills.
