Fowler Homes Auckland South wins 2023 TIDA New Zealand Group Home Builder of the Year.
This is an impressive home in Whitford, Auckland was architecturally designed by Mia Casa Architecture for clients Blackwood and Corbett. The TIDA Awards Judges said this is “a distinctive home packed with features”.
Rustic cladding, a design that responds to a tricky ‘wedged’ shape site, and rural interior elements – this home responds to it owners needs and its setting. The home sits across two levels on a sloping section that goes down into a native bush area.
The barn style home is appropriately clade in a combination of low maintenance aluminium weatherboard, vertical oak boards and stone. Stone also features inside the home on the fireplace and television structure, whilst also acting as a room divider between living areas.
The north facing living areas maximise the views and solar gain into the home.
