For any person building a home, can be so daunting. There’s lots to consider in terms of who will you choose to build your home, will they do a great job, can they be trusted?

We talked with a couple of places, but we settled on Fowler Homes because of a few reasons. We watched a few promotional videos of others who had bult their home with Fowler, and we were impressed by what they had to say.

Our initial meeting with Shane and his team was great. There were two things that stood out. They didn’t ask us what plan we were interested in, and they didn’t ask us the budget we had in mind.

Our first good feel moment came when we got back the first initial drawing concepts of what this home would look like. Shane mentioned to us that there’s about a 60% to 70% hit rate with the client, but we were taken aback when we saw the first drawing and said “this is so close” 90% plus for us”.

Once we had finalised the design and the budget all the fun stuff started. Selecting paint, carpet tiles, kitchen cabinets. We’re quite fortunate that Debbie and I like similar things and there were no hard discussions needed on selecting what we needed.

The build did take a while, but we were under no rush to put a final date on the house. We came out when the first dirt had been turned and celebrated with ice creams, then we watched our house grow and grow.
We came out a few times to look at progress and each time we were amazed by all the changes that took place.

The contractors used by Fowler Homes were also awesome, Ben Povey builders and his team were amazing. The roofers, plasterers, tiler, painters, carpet and vinyl team, electricians and plumbers were great.

Shane contracted Dale from Hardscape building to do our driveway and concreting around our pool. It was awesome to work with Dale. Nothing was a problem, and he always came up with great ideas to make things work.
On hand over Debbie and I were impressed with the quality of our home and care the team had taken to give us our dream family home. We have hosted a number of friends and family and had such wonderful comments about the quality, beauty, size and views our house has.

If we ever did this again, we would use Fowler Homes in a heartbeat. They are warm, caring and professional people and that showed throughout the process. Like all builds there were challenges along the way, but these were all navigated in a professional manner with great outcomes. We enjoyed the process from beginning to end.
